GENERAL REQUIREMENTS
All accepted presenters must pre-register and pay the applicable. If you do not pre-register, you will NOT be allowed to present at the meeting, and your abstract will be withdrawn from the scientific program.Submitting Online
- Please submit your powerpoint presentations via this Google Form latest by 25.11.2024, 5 pm GMT+8 (Kuala Lumpur time) for us to check and run the file. Failure to do so may affect your presentation time and marks.
- Do not prepare your presentation file with too many slides that may cause the presentation time to exceed seven (7) minutes.
- Name your PowerPoint presentation file according to your presentation number and full name: eg: O01_JasminaQamaruzzaman; O17_HaslinaRani,
- Upload the file to your own Google Drive
- Set sharing setting to “Everyone Can View”
- All electronic files must be submitted using one of the formats listed below:
- PowerPoint pptx
- PDF Reader: Adobe Acrobat DC
- Presenters may preview the presentation before the start of the oral session. The presentation room will be open from 8:00 am – 9:00 am daily prior to the oral session.
During the oral session
- Timing of oral presentation
- 7 minutes to present
- 5 minutes for Ǫ&A
- The session chair will cut off your presentation at 12 minutes.
- 3 minutes transition time
- Presenters should arrive at least 30 minutes before the start of the session to check in with the oral Session Chair. They should sit close to the front of the room.
- Presenters are required to be in attendance for the entire duration of the session.
- Once the presentation is launched, the speaker will be able to control the program from the podium using a computer mouse or the up/down/right/left keys on a keyboard. PIC will be available to assist with any needs.
- Please ensure you adhere to these timings to avoid disruptions to the programme schedule.
Preparing your MS PowerPoint (PPT) presentation file
Required presentation items- All presenters are required to include a slide listing any conflict-of-interest disclosures. Financial disclosure includes any commercial funding you receive from a company whose product(s) you are discussing. Read the IADR/AADOCR Policy on Full Disclosure. If there are no conflicts of interest to report, please indicate on your slide.
- Presenters should mention their research sponsors, if applicable, in their presentations.
- The presentations must cover the same materials as reported in the abstract.
PowerPoint Design
- Laptops will be run in presenter mode, meaning any notes you add to your PowerPoint file will be visible to you as you present.
- Design PowerPoint presentations in a 16:9 ratio. Presentations created in another format will have to be converted.
- Keynote, Google Slides, or other presentation programs must have the slides converted to PPT for upload.
- It is recommended that any necessary video or audio files should be embedded in your PowerPoint file.
Design Tips:
- Use a font size larger than 16 points.
- Use fonts with consistently thick lines.
- Members of your audience may be colour-blind. For graphs, avoid using red and green Blue/orange is a common colour-blind-friendly palette. Blue/red or blue/brown can be used as a substitute.
- Use a high colour contrast for the text and background of slides (e.g., dark text on a light background).
- Additional information regarding the formatting of your presentation will be available on the online pre-upload site.
- Apple Mac Users working in PowerPoint are advised to use True-Type fonts whenever possible. Also, please bring a copy of your presentation in PDF format.
Equipment
- Internet is not available in the meeting rooms.
- Each oral session room will have a laptop. The presenter will operate it themselves.
- You may not bring equipment from an outside source, such as a personal laptop. Using personal devices in the session rooms disrupts the flow of the session and makes the overall network connections less secure.
GUIDELINES FOR POSTER PRESENTATION
GENERAL REQUIREMENTS

- Poster should be equivalent to A0 Portrait size (33.11 x 46.81 inches or 841 x 1189 mm). Presenters may use software such as Microsoft PowerPoint, Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator, etc.
- Use a font size larger than 16 points.
- Use fonts with consistently thick lines.
- Members of your audience may be colour-blind. For graphs, avoid using red and green together. Blue/orange is a common colour-blind-friendly palette. Blue/red or blue/brown can be used as a substitute.
- Use a high colour contrast for text and background of slides (such as dark text on a light background).
- Please note that the official Meeting language is English. All presentations must be made in English.
ONSITE AT THE MEETING
You will be required to bring your printed poster for presentation to be displayed at the conference. The size requirement is A0 Portrait (33.11×46.81 inches or 841x 1189mm). Please note that if you fail to bring your poster on the day, the organising committee will not be able to assist with printing. All authors are asked to be near their poster during their allocated time slots. The Poster Sessions are an opportunity for delegates to approach the author of the poster and ask questions or discuss any element of the information displayed. When you first arrive at the Meeting, please go directly to the registration desk to collect your name badge and other related materials. Please also approach the registration desk staff if you are unable to locate your allocated poster panel. Note for presenters: Posters for Day 1& Day 2 should should be posted on the poster board from 8.00 a.m-9.00 a.m. and taken down on the same day by 5.30 p.m.GUIDELINES FOR IADR HATTON COMPETITION
The IADR Hatton Competition is designed to provide an opportunity for the best junior and senior investigators from all IADR Divisions and Sections to present their research at the annual IADR General Session.CATEGORIES OF COMPETITION
Junior Currently enrolled in a BDS/DDS (Bachelor’s and/or dental degree). This competition will be limited to those candidates who have carried out their research as part of undergraduate/professional training (research undertaken as an undergraduate science student, as a dental student, or at a time of pursuing an intercalated science degree while in training as a dental student). All presenters must present their research in an oral presentation format (up to 10 minutes verbal presentation, and a question-and-answer period not to exceed 5 minutes). The Hatton Awards judging will occur on November 29, 2024, 9.00 am -12.30 pm. in Room Hatten 2.
